My Year of Rest and Relaxation (Ottessa Moshfegh book)
A novel about a young woman who, grieving her parents, undertakes a project to sleep for a whole year. I read it in about three days. Parts of it reminded me strongly of David Foster Wallace, but it’s less longwinded and has more heart. I laughed out loud multiple times, mostly during the scenes with Dr. Tuttle, the worst psychiatrist imaginable. I also felt quite sad at times, reading this book. It depicts depression quite ruthlessly.
